So near yet so far.....5/6 is not too bad though

Ok - so i got 5/6 predictions right in my post last week. Unfortunately the one i got wrong was the critical one. Both because it meant my personal favorite team is out but also because it has now rendered the remaining games somewhat irrelevant.

So Rajasthan came so close but threw it away. Once again a poor batting performance (Graeme Smith not being in the team for a cruical game will remain a question mark - though his performance justified being dropped. I think Warne got this one wrong - the already brittle batting was woefully exposed). But after having Kolkatta on the ropes at 42 for 6, they should have really closed this out. Rajasthan, the team that has pulled off last over victories miraculously(think Munaf Patel) and KKR the team that has lost in the last over against all odds (think Rohit Sharma) - surely this couldnt have happened. I was hoping till the last over but after the keeper fluffed 2 run out chances it was all over. In some ways a miracle that the team without Shane Watson, Sohil Tanvir, Graeme Smith making it even till here is probably a great outcome.

So I'll stick with my predictions for the rest of the league but given its all irrelevant, the teams might experiment and things could change. Predictions for the finals and winners tomorrow but can you imagine if this IPL is won by Vijay Mallya's not so long ago test team???? This season has been so unpredictable that anything is possible....

Pretty impressive prediction and disection of mumbai's 'super' performance. Now that the semifinal line up is almost done i.e. Dlehi, chennai, Deccan and RC (with Punjab stll with an outside chance) who is your pick for the winner?

Can we please have one more Trivia round? With some tangible prizes for getting it right. Look forward to reading more on this blog

Good work on the predictions...the J Kallis trivia was nicely done (no way to know if it is true)

Guess it's goodbye to madam Zinta's boys whatever be the outcome of the RC / DC match

Guess you will be on for the T20 world cup as well....will be tracking it closely then.

Keep it up....sb
